MEAL: Chicken cordon bleu, baked, roasted red potatoes, California blend vegetables, cherry cheesecake, dinner roll with butter, and vegetable beef soup.

APRIL MEETING TIDBITS:  Steve Murrison was the attendance drawing winner of a $20 gift card. Treasurer Roger Thull briefed the monthly Treasurer report for April 2023, two expenses, and one deposit with an ending checking account balance of $3462.94. The membership continued to make plans for the June 14 free Hot Dog lunch for the Salina community at the Temple.

SUPPORT MILITARY ORGANIZATIONS EVENTS:  Memorial Day ceremonies (military organizations) will happen on Monday, May 29, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Sunset Park in Salina. A day to honor and remember those who have died serving our country. Includes revealing a new POW/MIA memorial.  

VFW Post 1432 in Salina will have its 2nd Annual Salute to Veterans on May 19, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

A FIRST FOR THE AIR FORCE: The Air Force has named the first woman to serve as the civilian leader of its criminal investigation agency in its 74-year history. 

Special Agent Pearl S. Mundt, who has spent 23 years with the Air Force's Office of Special Investigations, was named its executive director on April 24. She will serve as deputy to the OSI commander, Brig. Gen. Terry L. Bullard. (Source Military.com 04/24/23)
